We are keenly aware of the responsibilities we have to our clients, staff and our wider community. As an organisation committed to sustainability, OCS is focussed not only on addressing the environmental impacts of our products and services, but also on supporting our clients to meet their own environmental, social and economic sustainability goals.
Many of OCS’ divisions around the globe have achieved accreditation to ISO 14001, the global Environmental Management standard. We have a company wide environmental policy, review and manage our environmental impact, and set targets for improving performance. We have developed a range of service methodologies that are designed to reduce energy use, water use and waste to landfill and improve the environmental credentials of our cleaning chemicals and consumables products.
OCS WasteLine designs and delivers waste minimisation strategies and solutions. It brings together specialist waste, recycling, and composting services to provide OCS clients with a unique end-to-end sustainable waste management service.
Corporate social responsibility is at the forefront of our business with initiatives around the world including our international charity The OCS Family Foundation, the UK's OCS Young Sports Person Awards, the PCS Foundation in Thailand and the Wells for India initiative, amongst other community projects. In New Zealand we provide First Foundation Scholarships to family members of our staff, are an active supporter of The Salvation Army and our staff have taken part in their 14 Hours Homeless and Red Sheild Appeal fundraising, a coastal clean-up on Motutapu Island and the annual ‘Movember’ event which raises money for men’s health awareness.
In 2017, OCS released our first sustainability report as we strive to become the most sustainable business in the New Zealand facilities services industry by 2020.
